Silk Plaster West is the collection for homeowners who lean toward calm, considered interiors - the spaces where light, materials, and texture do more work than colour. Built around two carefully balanced shades, 932 and 933, West gives a wall the kind of soft depth that photographs beautifully and feels even better in person.
Texturally, West sits in the elegant middle ground of the Silk Plaster main collection. The fibre mix is fine and even, so the dried surface reads as a refined matt finish rather than an obvious texture. Up close you see the subtle interplay of cellulose and silk components; from across the room you simply see a wall that looks more expensive than the room around it. That visual upgrade is one of the reasons West is increasingly specified in living rooms, home offices, and primary bedrooms.
Like every Silk Plaster product, West is applied as a continuous, seamless coating. You mix the pack with warm water, let it rest, then spread it across the wall with a plastic trowel. There are no joints, no cut lines, no awkward edges around sockets or switches - the material simply knits over the whole surface. If a section is later damaged, the same pack (or a fresh one in the same colour code) can be re-wetted and worked back in invisibly, so a knock or a moisture mark never means a full repaint.
West is also one of the easier collections for first-time decorators. There is no paste, no roll cutting, no pattern matching. A 1.125 kg pack covers approximately 3.5 m² depending on thickness, and most homeowners finish a feature wall in a single afternoon. The dried layer sits at around 1.1 mm thick - enough body to read as a considered matt surface without losing fineness. The dried surface is touch-dry within 24 to 48 hours and fully cured within 72 hours.
The formulation is built for indoor living. Silk Plaster West is VOC A+ rated, contains no harsh solvents, and emits no lingering odour during or after application - which is why it sees so much use in bedrooms, nurseries, and rooms that you cannot leave empty for days at a time. The coating is breathable and quietly forgiving on imperfect substrates, masking small bumps and hairline cracks that paint would otherwise highlight.
Designers often combine West with stronger statement collections - pairing it with East, South, or one of the Versailles luxury collections on an accent wall - to create rooms that feel layered without becoming busy. Used on its own across all four walls, West acts as a quietly elegant envelope that lets furniture and lighting take centre stage.
Silk Plaster West ships pan-EU from our Riga warehouse with technical data sheets, application guides, and access to our customer support team. Pair it with the SP Primer Silk Plaster on chalky or porous substrates, and consider the Expert Trowel for tighter edges around architraves. For a finish that elevates a whole room without shouting, Silk Plaster West remains one of the smarter choices in the main collection.
