What Is Rubber Paint?
Rubber paint — also called elastomeric coating — is a flexible, high-performance protective paint that forms a seamless elastic membrane over the surface it covers. Rubber paint is suitable for Wood, Metal, Mineral surfaces and Plastics. Silk Plaster’s Rubber Paint is manufactured in the EU and engineered to stretch at least as 70% or more of its original size, allowing it to bridge hairline cracks and absorb structural movement without peeling, cracking or flaking.
Where Is Rubber Paint Used?
Silk Plaster Rubber Paint is commonly applied to exterior surfaces such as roofs, facades, masonry walls and concrete foundations, where its flexibility and water-resistant properties guard against cracking and environmental stress. It is equally effective on balconies, terraces, wood fences, metal structures and basement walls. Thanks to its low-VOC, eco-friendly formula, the coating can also be used indoors on walls and ceilings in kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms and any area prone to moisture.
Elastomeric Coating Properties
- Matte finish — provides an elegant, non-reflective surface suitable for residential and commercial interiors.
- Elasticity from 70% — holds cracks and absorbs impacts without peeling, even during extreme temperature swings.
- Water-repellent — builds a durable waterproof shield that protects substrates from rain, condensation and splashing.
- Exceptional coverage — 200–400 g/m² in two-three coats, varying with surface smoothness and absorption.
- Heat resistance — operational temperature range from −60°C to +90°C.
Eco-Friendly & Low VOC Formula
Silk Plaster Rubber Paint features a low-VOC formulation that minimises harmful emissions while ensuring superior indoor air quality. The coating carries an A+ indoor-air-quality rating — making it a responsible choice for schools, hospitals and family homes.
Easy Application — Brush, Roll or Spray
Designed for both professionals and DIY enthusiasts, Silk Plaster Rubber Paint is ready to use straight from the can. Apply by brush, roller or airless spray. Two coats are recommended for optimal coverage and protection. The washable finish (EN 13300 Class 1, the highest wet-scrub resistance) ensures easy long-term maintenance.

Coverage & Consumption
Apply in two coats. Consumption: 200–400 g/m² depending on surface roughness and porosity. One 1 kg can cover approximately circa 5 m² in 2 coats. For large surfaces, calculate your total area and add 10% for overlaps and waste.
