Microcement Application Instructions

The application of our Microcement system is straightforward when following these instructions:

1. Surface Preparation

   • Tiles Application: If applying Microcement directly onto tiles, use the Aqua Oteks primer to ensure proper adhesion.

   • Other Surfaces: If no tiles are involved, you can proceed directly with the first layer, which is the Base Q Primer.

2. Base Layer Application (SP Base Microcemento) 0.9 – 1.1 kg/m²

   • Mix and Apply: SP Base Microcemento is the base layer, typically not tinted. Apply it with a Venetian stainless steel trowel or putty knife in a single layer.

   • Sanding: If doing overlays, sand the base layer with P40-P60 grit sandpaper once it has dried.

3. Finish Layer Application (SP Finish Microcemento) 0.9 – 1.1 kg/m²

   • First Layer: After the base layer dries, apply the SP Finish Microcemento in two layers. The finish layer should be smooth and can be tinted to your desired color.

   • Drying Time: Allow one day of drying time between each layer of Microcemento.

4. Sanding the Finish Layer

   • Once the SP Finish Microcemento has dried, carefully sand it using P240-P320 grit sandpaper to ensure a smooth, even surface.

5. Topcoat Application (PU Varnish TOP888) 7–8 m²/l

   • Apply the Topcoat: Apply the PU Varnish TOP888 in 2-3 thin layers for optimal protection and durability.

   • Sanding Between Layers: Use fine-grit sandpaper between each layer for a smooth finish.

   • Bathroom Application: In bathrooms, ensure you apply 3 layers of PU Varnish TOP888 for extra protection against moisture.
